Steve Ott

Steve bought his first property when he was 25 and had been interested and dabbled in real estate ever since. Steve then spent close to 20 years in the hi-tech industry with large companies such as Bell, BcTel and Cognos. Hoping to get a package during the hi-tech bust years proved fruitless so Steve had to quit the industry to fulfill his vision of entrepreneurship and started his own home inspection company in 2004.

Steve has been able to help and assist many OREIO members with home inspections over the past several years and hopes to foster and improve upon this relationship. A member of the Ontario Associations of Home Inspectors and the Ontario Onsite Wastewater Association, Steve excels in all areas of home and property inspection.

An avid outdoors person, Steve snowshoes, cross country skis and bikes in the Chelsea area, and sails and kayaks on the Gatineau River. He’s an avid curler and plays Ultimate (frisbee) in the summer, having competed at the national and international levels in his younger years. He also restores classic and antique outboard engines as a favorite pastime.

Married with two small children, Steve is still trying to convince his wife of the advantages of real estate investment and is working on getting her out to her first OREIO meeting so she can appreciate the benefits and also become a real estate investor.
