Hi there, I was just wondering what I could do to help in this situation. I know an older couple (he's early 70's and she's late 60's). He's a medical doctor and the sole breadwinner. He suffered a stroke several months back and has been out of work for quite some time while recovering. Lifestyle was pretty overextended. Strong income, but plenty of bills. careless with credit cards and credit not so great. Just found out that he was able to get back to work and is making monety again, but in the meantime, mortagage has been late and they are now in default. Mortgage company gives them until 15th of the month to come up with the $2500 mortgage payment or it will start proceedings. He will enough money for next month, but is very low since he just started back to work and receives pay once per month in a private practice. unable to receive a loan due to poor credit. What are their options in this situation if they want to keep the house and avoid foreclosure? Is there anyone to approach to get them some short- term cash relief? Thanks. Mike |
