We have an exciting meeting coming up on November 12th – Ken Hoyt will be talking about “Getting the Legal on Real Estate Transactions Simplified.” Having served more than twenty years as an Ottawa solicitor, Ken Hoyt is associated with the law firm, Windle and Hoyt. Hugely popular among local realtors, Ken is truly on top of the legal profession as far as real estate matters are concerned and is the expert when challenges arise during a real estate transaction. During his talk, Ken will emphasize from a legal standpoint, the 3 keys areas of the real estate transaction we all need to know and understand - costs involved, (anticipated and incurring), zoning and the all important topic of fire code. Ken believes that service matters and the client should be fully informed. In particular the manner in which the lawyer completes the transaction will have a direct impact on your state of mind. He promises to make this legal stuff entertaining at the same time giving us a better understanding of the various expenses involved, in an effort to avoid unnecessary financial surprises.
A few months ago we introduced a great program that we believe offers a win-win deal for all the members. Members who would like to speak to the group (maximum 1 minute) to introduce themselves and their business, will have the opportunity if they give back to the group by providing a door prize – it can be a book, free service (i.e. inspection, course, rental advertising, etc.), or anything else of value – big or small – as long as it does not require the person to pay for the service to obtain it (i.e. discount on a service) – essentially the door prize should be free and clear. With such a great audience to promote your business to, this is a great opportunity – don’t miss out. Or perhaps you simply want to give back to the group and have something you would like to hand out (how about a copy of Rich Dad Poor Dad or another great gift)
At the last meeting we had a fantastic number of door prizes to hand out from vendors such as SpirePoint Properties, Capital Mortgages, Ottawa Valley Home Inspections, Priority Coaching, Citadel Renovations and many more.
Email me (vp@oreio.org) before the Sunday preceding the meeting with what your prize will be so we know who would like to talk to the group. The sooner the better so we can announce some of the great door prizes that will be given out at the meeting and get as many people to the meeting to hear what you have to say.
Thanks
