Careers in the Financial Sector

Hello all,

As a result of reading "The Passion Test" and completing my 5 Year Plan after the May meeting, I've decided to start contemplating a career change. I'm considering switching to something in the financial sector--accountant, financial planner, mortgage broker, or something else entirely?--and was wondering if there's anybody in OREIO who works in these areas and would be willing to meet for coffee or lunch. I would like to get some "boots on the ground" perspectives before I make any hard and fast decisions.

Thanks,

Hello Shanon,

I previoiusly worked as a financial advisor for nearly a decade. From a front line insurance agent to product specialist and assistant manager of a small brokerage company (mutual funds/insurance)

It is a rewarding career in many lights, however, you do need to hear about the tunnels that you will traverse.

I would be glad to have a coffee.

Sure thing. Coffee this week

Sure thing.

Coffee this week or lunch next week if you book it now.

Heading for the busiest closing date of the year June 30th, so don't expect much response from any other broker/agents. (Kinda like tax time for accountants)

Cheers,
JRW
