Ottawa Real Estate Investors Organization

Wondering if anyone out there has experience in developing/expanding their own rental properties? I have a triplex in the Vanier/Beechwood area that is huge-a 1500 square foot apartment on the mainfloor, an identical 1500 foot unit upstairs and a 1,000 square foot unit in the basement with about 500 square feet or so in the basement of unfinished space. I've been thinking of finishing the second half of the basement either to add a 4th unit or expand the current apartment (which is a 1 bedroom), into a 2-bedroom unit. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. Any opinions out there?
