June 8th OREIO presents two national level speakers who will speak to key topics both new and veteran investors need to know. The first is with Elizabeth Kelly, a veteran investor and coach, who will be speaking to the changing dynamics in the real estate market and how to choose investment strategies that match the market situation and your own personal objectives. This is an essential topic for new investors and a good refresher for veterans. Elizabeth has implemented most of the investment models she will speak to.

Our second speaker is Cherry Chan, a real estate focused accountant, who produces a lot of great information for investors. Cherry will be speaking about CRA audits and potential traps that naïve investors and even experienced investors often fall into. With CRAs focus on looking for investors that fall out of compliance, this topic is essential for real estate investors.

Here's a bit more about the topics we will cover...

ElizabethRecent changes in the real estate market indicate that investors should revisit their investment strategies and business practices. Are you confident that your investment strategy is going to help you achieve your goals? Do you know which strategies work best in the different types of markets? Elizabeth Kelly will be walking us through key considerations to ensure there is alignment between your goals and your current investment activities - including choosing the right strategy for you and the current market conditions.

CherryReal estate investors often ask me, "how do I prevent myself from a CRA Tax Audit Trap?" Non-compliance can be a true concern for any real estate investor if you become a victim of targeted audits. CRA regularly monitors tax compliance in real estate transactions. So much so that CRA has dedicated a whole section explaining compliance to real estate investors. I'll be speaking about the deciding factors in detail.
