Thank you for your post and taking the time to publicly state your position. It is important to the member to know and understand where each of the candidates stand on each of the issues

    Tony,

Of course the membership will absolutely vote on any major changes. That's a given. I fully agree that the ownership remain with members.

    Victor.

    Hi there,

If I am elected President, the members will own OREIO. Full stop. It won't be sold to anyone or anything like that.

Should OREIO be incorporated? Maybe. I'm not an authority on the subject. That said, I won't support it until the Executive delivers a report that is written with the support of a qualified lawyer and accountant for the membership's review and discussion. At a minimum, the report should describe the start up and ongoing costs, the benefits, the cons, the structure, the obligations, and level of effort. Only then will we as an organization know if it will be worthwhile to incorporate OREIO.

So, the first step will be to ask if the membership agrees with spending time and money (for lawyer and accountant input etc) to have the report written.

If the answer is yes, then I will propose that a committee of 2 Executive members and 2 member volunteers be formed to lead the development and completion of the report by a certain date.

The membership can make an informed decision about incorporating or not after the report has been reviewed and questions have been answered.

    I hope this makes sense!

    Tony
