Let’s talk about vision and collaboration.  Todaythe board of Executive candidates will be playing their pre-recorded videos, so this is a better time than never to give you an idea as to what I’ll be proposing to the board.

First things first: what is vision?  Vision is the ability to plan the future with imagination or wisdom (I totally paraphrased Google).  Vision is widely regarded as being a fundamental key to strong leadership.  Unsurprisingly, within OREIO, The President and VP are responsible for bringing vision and direction to the organization.

So where does the Secretary come in? Simple! OREIO is fully managed by volunteers who need motivation.  Vision PROVIDES that motivation and therefore promotes collaboration.  With vision, our board of volunteers have a goal towards which they can aspire to and bring about the best results for OREIO!

As Secretary, I will be bringing the following vision to OREIO.

1.       Networking for new members can be intimidating, regardless of your investing experience.  I will propose a system to better integrate new members into our community, where they can meet the board of executives and connect with other new members.  This system will improve new member experience but also enhance long term networking for established members.

2.       I speak fluent French and I will ensure that communication is available to all of our members.  So, for the francophones, “je serais votre interlocuteur au sein du conseil d’administration pour répondre à votre besoins dans la langue de votre choix.  Les francophones sont souvent oublier, alors je me mets à votre service!”

3.       Finally, OREIO will experience the greatest modernization in its history!  I will be bringing my project management experience in moderating the board meetings to ensure that OREIO's transition aligns with our beliefs and that the board is held accountable to its members.  I will treat this modernization like a project and ensure that transparency and communication be made the highest priority to our members. 

Again, vision is not the responsibility of the Secretary, but these fundamental beliefs are what will motivate me to deliver our modernization to you the members J.
