Connecting Promises and Accountability – Jacob Holmer for Secretary

Hey OREIO!  The voting is in two days’ time and there are a lot of promises floating around.  Some promises from contesting candidates and others from the newly acclaimed members of the board.

And what do all of these promises have in common: there are too many to remember…

Being a government town, Ottawa sees its lopsided share of bureaucracy.  Come election year in politics, we can bet on hearing a lot of promises and expect a few to slip through the cracks.

This is something I fear as well, but OREIO is better than that.

Meetings operate similarly, where the more people you have at the table, the more ideas get tossed around, and the fewer details are remembered.

For that reason, it is CRUCIAL to have someone capable of moderating the meetings and recording the minutes.

If elected Secretary, I’ll manage the board meetings like a project.  I will be bringing my project management experience to the board where I will sift through the noise, so we can keep the discussions on track and hold our executives accountable to their promises.  I moderate meetings and record minutes every day, and now I offer my services to you the members.

Thank you for reading to the end and I hope for your support!
